Spending money boosts the economy. I wish people would realize that cutting back in a bad economy is the worst thing you can do for it.
You 1/2 way understand the concept.
Yes, spending money is good, yes it boosts the economy.
Wealthy people with money still spend money. The Obamas spending 50’000$ is not boosting the economy because it is in no way an unusual thing. It could be very easily argued that the 50,000 spent could have better boosted doing almost anything else but shopping on Madison Ave.
Little people spending their hard earned money in small amounts (compared to a 50,000 shopping spree) at local businesses boosts the economy. Right now the little people aren’t spending because we’d rather eat, or save for a dr’s appts or pay rent.
This 50,000 shopping spree did NOT boost the economy. Rich people spending the money they have always spent isn’t boosting anything.
